Jack Vettriano is a prominent Scottish artist best known for his romantic and sometimes dark and mysterious paintings. Born Jack Hoggan in 1951, he changed his surname in his early twenties in tribute to his father’s Italian heritage. His career began in the late 1980s when he began making copies of paintings by other contemporary artists and selling them.
